What Injuries May Occur After a Two-Car Crash in Hackensack

Even collisions that appear minor can result in injuries that are not immediately obvious. Back pain, in particular, is a common complaint after motor vehicle accidents and may indicate soft-tissue damage, muscle strain, or spinal involvement. In some cases, symptoms may worsen hours or days after the crash.

Prompt medical evaluation is important after any collision, especially when pain is reported. Medical records help ensure proper diagnosis and treatment, and can also serve as documentation if follow-up care is needed. Conditions such as whiplash, herniated discs, and nerve irritation are frequently associated with two-car crashes and may require ongoing care or physical therapy.

Injury-related crashes can also create stress related to medical bills, time missed from work, and insurance claims. Understanding how injuries are documented and treated early can help prevent complications later. Even when emergency responders clear a scene quickly, individuals involved are often advised to monitor symptoms and seek further medical attention if pain persists or worsens.

Paramus, NJ – Two Injured in SUV Crash on Rte 17 Flyover Ramp to Rte 4

Paramus, NJ (January 20, 2026) – Two people were injured on Sunday, January 18, after an SUV crash took place at the southbound Route 17 flyover ramp connecting to Route 4.

An older model Chevrolet Tahoe left the roadway and fell nearly 200 feet into a ditch below the ramp. The SUV came to rest in a deep ditch following the crash. Crews worked to remove the vehicle while ensuring the area remained safe during recovery operations.

Paramus Emergency units responded to assist the occupants and secure the scene. Two people were hurt in the accident and received medical attention.

The Paramus Police Department has not confirmed what caused the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.

Our thoughts remain with those injured as they receive care and work toward recovery.

How to Get a Police Report After a Crash in Paramus

If you need a copy of a police report after your crash in Paramus, contact the Paramus Police Department Records Bureau where the crash was reported. You can call or visit the records office, or use an online service, if available.

You’ll need to provide multiple details, such as your name, the date of the crash, and the report or case number. You usually must show ID and pay a small fee. The department will tell you when the report is ready to pick up or how to download it if online.

In New Jersey, police departments keep and issue crash reports as public records under state rules. You can request them from the local police records office or, for crashes on state highways, through the New Jersey State Police’s online crash report system.

Reports generally become available within a couple of weeks after the accident once the officer files the completed report.

Police reports are important for personal injury claims because they contain an official account of the crash, including the officer’s observations, diagrams, and witness information.

Insurance companies and lawyers use this independent documentation to help determine who caused the crash and to support your claim for medical costs, repairs, or other damages.

It is important you review the police report carefully once it is received. If there are factual errors, such as incorrect names or vehicle information, you can contact the police department to ask them to fix those details. Accurate records can help prevent confusion later.

Because every crash is different, the steps involved in obtaining a police report may vary. Authorities continue to review and document crash incidents as part of their standard procedures, so make sure you get the latest and updated copy of your crash report.
