Hackensack, NJ (March 2, 2026) – On Saturday, February 28, emergency responders were dispatched to a three-vehicle crash with multiple injuries at the intersection of Passaic Street and River Street in Hackensack.
According to officials, the collision occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m. across from White Manna and involved a 2016 Chevy Trailblazer, a 2007 Chevy Tahoe, and a 2017 Dodge Grand Cherokee.
Engine 4, Rescue 1, and Deputy Chief Christensen from the Hackensack Fire Department’s 3rd Platoon responded to the scene along with the Hackensack Police Department and EMS units.
Authorities said the driver of the Trailblazer was a 43-year-old man from Fairview. A 49-year-old man from Bergenfield operated the Tahoe, and a 30-year-old man from Hackensack drove the Dodge.
Initial reports indicated nine injuries, though officials later confirmed that a total of 12 patients were assessed and treated at the scene. Multiple people sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported by Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) units to area hospitals for further evaluation and care.
Fire crews stabilized the vehicles and stretched a precautionary hoseline to secure the scene. Officials credited the coordinated response between fire crews, police officers, and EMS personnel for ensuring all injured parties were promptly triaged and transported.
